Hi,

I am interning with a consulting firm, Global Citizen, LLC, that works to strengthen the
capacity of students, professionals and institutions to interact and work more effectively
and ethically across countries and cultures for mutually-beneficial and empowering
outcomes. We envision a world in which people and the institutions they create act as
global citizens with awareness, understanding, sensitivity and ethical practices to
improve human relations, advance public health and effect social transformation.
I am creating an educational video about the harmful effects of intolerance and the
importance of acting with sensitivity and respect towards people from different cultures.
We invite you and your community to share your stories that may become part of this
video. The video will be used for educational purposes during presentations and trainings
and will be posted on our website (http://www.globalcitizenllc.com).
If you are interested in participating, we will be conducting individual interviews
for about 20 minutes each at a mutually-convenient location and time. Your
participation is completely voluntary. We will ask you to sign a consent form for
permission to use your interview in the video. You will be asked to respond to the
following questions:

Many of us have had the experience of people making assumptions about us or

treating us with disrespect because of our country or culture of origin. When you think
about your experiences with this, what is the most insensitive comment or action
anyone has ever made related to your country or culture of origin? Tell us the story of
what they said and did and how that affected you.

How can people who dont know about your culture or country learn about it in a
respectful way?

How would you describe a globally-competent person?

Tell us about an experience where you were treated with disrespect or discriminated
against by an organization or institution due to your culture or country of origin.

How would you describe a globally-competent institution?

Imagine a world in which people and institutions acted as globally-competent citizens.

Describe this world.

Please feel free to share this letter with others you believe may be interested.
Thank you,
