Identity vs.

role confusion
- This stage of psychosocial development is about establishing a sense of self and belongingness
within an adolescents environment. Failure to establish an identity during psychosocial crisis
may push the individual into role confusion. Absence of the parents while the Mr. D and the large
age-gap between siblings may be the factors influencing the way the client interacts with people.
The client cannot establish a genuine and good relationship with other people if he lacks fidelity;
as a result of role confusion.

Intimacy vs isolation
-As adults, forming relationships are to be expected. But we do know that before forming an
intimate and harmonious relationship with others, it is important that we first establish identity. If
Mr. D failed in forming a genuine bond with his family and friends, then most likely he would
not be able to create a stable environment and genuine relationship with other people. Mr. D
experienced that the relationship he had with his younger sibling faded away as time passed by.
And as of now, he stands on his own without the regards of his family.
