Gapminder

The five countries I chose; The Central African Republic, India, Egypt, Russia
and the US roughly create a line that goes from very low health and wealth to very
high, respectively. The Central African Republic had the lowest Health and Wealth
rate of the five that I compared, and one of the lowest overall. The life expectancy
was 53 years and an income of $589, both are extremely low values. India was the
next highest with a life expectancy of 66 years and an income of $5,198. India is
plotted roughly in the middle of the data. Egypt was moderately better than India
regarding an increase in life expectancy of an additional 5 years, while Egypts
income was more than double that of India ($10,598). China was even better than
Egypt with a life expectancy of 77 years and an income of $11,523. Russia was
similar in location to China on the chart, having a lower life expectancy (71) but a
higher income ($23,562). The country with the highest values (of the five I chose)
was the United States with a life expectancy of 79 and an income of $51,471. As
this chart shows, there is most certainly a high correlation between the wealth of a
nation and the life expectancy.
