Dear Judges:
My name is Hannah Benton. I am writing this to you in regards of the Senior Exploration. My
parents divorced when I was in middle school and it changed every aspect of my life. I have
enjoyed my three year high school career. I am graduating a year early. I have been accepted into
the University of Tampa, which I will be headed to over summer. Other than school I work now
four days a week at Bojangles in Murrells Inlet. Over the last couple of years, I have lost many
who are still close to me. I lost Donnie Becker back in August of 2013 and just recently lost
Gavin Brunetti back in February this year. The recent and not so recent events that have taken
place in my life, has made me who I am today.
While getting ready for my last year at St. James I had to choose between two classes that could
have affected my college choices. I have always wanted to work with marine life and then just
recently the topic of forensics has become an option. I chose this topic because when the topic of
forensics came about, I leaned toward it more than marine science. The University of Tampa
luckily has both options and I will be able to choose at a better time. During the research, I
learned that the body cameras worn by the police officers could violate a civilians fourth
amendment rights. I also learned that the cameras may be a point of view and cause more harm
than good to civilians.
The Senior Exploration was, in general, easy. Typing has never been difficult for me to do.
However, finding the article to do the research papers and annotated bibliographies was a little
more challenging. I did believe that the second research and annotated bibliography papers were
pointless. The Senior Exploration had no effect on my grades, but my math is still a problem.
I am glad that you have taken the time out of your day to sit and listen to our projects. I hope you
have a great night and have enjoyed or will enjoy the next projects including mine. Once again
thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Hannah Benton
