Dear Principle,
I am excited and look forward to be a part of this institution and work
alongside with you and other colleagues. My name is Itzel Carrillo and I
graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biological Sciences
(Secondary Education) from Arizona State University. I have experience as a
student teacher in different schools ranging from charter to public schools
and instructing students from all different backgrounds. My past involvement
in various organizations during my college career has helped me gain great
leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Through my
experiences I have come to strongly believe in a flexible teaching style that
focuses on constructivist and progressive learning.
I look forward to teaching biology to the students. The main goal of my
course is to help students engage in critical writing, thinking and reading
while increasing their knowledge of biology. My focus is to help students
successfully master the science and engineering practices over the course of
this year. I enjoy hands-on work and interactive activities and I believe in
having students apply what they learn through field experience and
laboratory work. I am excited to help students make connections between
what they learn in my classroom to the real world by taking them on field
trips such as going to visit nearby national parks to experience different wild
life and their ecosystems. I have attached the syllabus, which includes my
classroom/laboratory rules, procedures, goals, science and engineering
practices as well as a list of assignments and fun activities we will be doing
throughout the school year.
I have always been driven to be involved within my community and school. I
would love to guide and influence students to be more passionate about their
organizations on and off campus by being an advisor for an organization
such as first year student success club. A club which focuses on partnering
upperclassmen with freshman in order for freshman to have an easier and
more successful transition into the high schools environment.
Please feel free to contact me if you ever have any comments, concerns or
questions. You may contact me via email at ilozanoc@asu.edu or by phone

I am excited to work with you and I look forward to a great year.

Sincerely,

Miss Itzel Carrillo
