[MPEG- 2 Bitrate Mode]: Under MPEG-2 Bitrate formats you could select either variable bitrate or constant bitrate. [Video Quality] Pull the knob to adjust the video quality. Note that better quality takes up more hard drive space. [Video and Audio Codec] All available formats are listed. We suggest that you use a compressed format for recording. Resolutions available for Time-Shifting quality are determined by your system capability; when the video jiggles or drops frames, you need to lower the resolution/quality set here. Note: Compression format used in the Time- Shifting recording is set at MPEG1 format. After doing so, there will be no TV channels available for viewing. [Country] Choose the country where you are from the drop down list to help the system tune in the channels at the precise frequencies and quickly discern the video standards. [Scan Channels] Click this button to start scanning for all available channels, [Adaptive Channel Scanning] See Custom Defined Area. Favorite channels Favorite channels are marked with a '+' ina heart shaped icon. When you surf through the channels by clicking the Channel Up/Down button, only these channels are available and those marked with a '-' ina spade shaped icon will be skipped.
