Snow Crystals

1. Snowflakes form from water vapor. In cold air, the water vapor sticks together in a crystalline
shape and freezes into ice.
2. The simplest type of snowflake is a Hexagonal Prism.
3. A snowflake forms by freezing water vapor around a dust particle. As more and more water
vapor freezes onto the formation, it grows larger and larger and becomes a snowflake. When
the snowflake hits the ground, it melts and becomes water vapor again, and the process
repeats.
