For the last few months Ihave had the honor and privilege to know Damaris. She has been a reliable and responsible volunteer at Valley Elementary Homework Club (PUSD ASES program) located at 13000 Bowron Rd, Poway Ca 92064, Valley Elementary School is a California Department of Education Title 1 School in the Poway United School District. The Homework Club is an afterschool program serving ‘over 100 students at no cost to their families. We are open from the time school is dismissed until 6pm every school day. During her volunteer service, Damaris was responsible for assisting first through fifth grade students with the completion of their homework, reading and for assisting adult with the supervision of outdoor sports activities once schoo! work was completed. Her attitude was wonderful and she used her time wisely with a focus on the needs of the students. She was especially good assisting the students in science, technology, engineering, & math (STEM) projects. Her patient with the children has been a huge help when some of the children have trouble with their homework. It has been a pleasure to have Damaris volunteer at Valley Elementary School Homework Club these past months. Twould love to have her continue to volunteer with our program on a regular basis in the future, ymeWork Club was featured in an article last fall as we celebrated 10 years.
