What is the IHS?

The IHS is a comprehensive social services agency
working to prevent & end homelessness in Hawaii.

Eight Service Areas:

Emergency Shelter & Services
Specialized Case Management
Community Food Programs
Childrens Enrichment Services
Outreach Services
Housing Placement Services
Employment Services
Health Services

Services

provided by HIS or offered in collaboration with other

agencies include:

Support Services: Specialized case management,

housing placement, mental health support, substance
abuse outreach, budgeting & financial management.

Education & Employment: Adult education classes,

job-search skills, life-skills instruction.

Special Support: Legal consultation through Legal Aid,

on-site substance abuse treatment & referral, alcoholics
anonymous & narcotics anonymous, headstart for
toddlers and parenting education.

Services
Emergency Services: Meals, shelter, showers &
hygiene supplies, triage & referral assistance; phone &
mail access, clothing, access to laundry facilities.

Health Care: General health screenings offered at onsite clinics, urgent medical treatments & vaccinations.

Who We Serve
Single women
Families with children
Eligibility criteria: must be unsheltered or in danger of
becoming unsheltered
Have children 18 years or younger in the household
Must consent to a health screening to obtain a current TB
clearance
Agree to comply with the case management service plan.

Who We Serve

Costs: Who will pay?

$90 per person or family, after first 3 months
Those who cannot pay will not have to.
Fee applies to women, families & men.
Those who leave the program before the 90 days
will have to pay the monthly fee automatically if
they return.
