IMPLAINT - COMMENT POLICY

calls, including voicemails; emails through miultiple individuals; and more
recently the City of Longmont’s Service Request System. In light of the
complaints being submitted, as well as the multiple venues in which they have
been submitted, the City believes and has determined a policy be adopted on
how complaints and comments should be submitted and shall be accepted in
order to better provide a tool to prevent any complaints being missed or left out
of the log, improve the useftilness of the log for analysis, and to improve the

Purpose: The Airport Noise - Comment Log’ is a repository for information
collected by listening to the’citizens, particularly those in the vicinity of the
Vance Brand Municipal Airport, about aircraft noise complaints and other
comments, both complimentary and non-complimentary, and may be used to
analyze the data collected using means as directed by city management. It is not
intended. to be used to report emergency situations, In the event of an
emergency; it should be reported through the E-911 system by dialing 911 on a
telephone.
Goal: The goal of th policy is to create a single, uniform and structured format
for reporting complaints, issues and/or providing positive feedback via a single
venue to ensure data integrity, transparency and to provide for a more efficient
process. The goal of the process is to: 1) Evaluate the information collected; 2)
Take corrective action on issues that are within the purview airport and
authority of the City of Longmont; and 3) Respond to the contributors in a
transparent manner.

Persons may submit complaints or comments
Only complaints and comments submitted through the City of Longmont’s
online Service Request System, which is currently found at the following
link: http:/ /longmontcolorado.gov /online-services/service-request, will
be logged
Noise complaints must be submitted within 24 hours of the event.
Only one complaint per event, per person will be logged
o In any of the six (6) specific categories (i.e, Sky Diving) an event
must be at least 20 minutes from the previous occurrence to be
considered a separate event and subsequently logged
o Any less than 20 minutes between occurrences, the event will not be
logged, unless it is filed in a separate category. 2
Complaints and comments containing vulgarity, slurs, threats or personal
attacks will not be accepted
