Commentary: Before norm looked like the big muscular and tough niner he looked a little rough
and less fierce. As you can see in the image, norm has features that stand out a lot from the one
we currently have. This style of the way norm looked was first implemented in 2000. The
University wanted to change the appearance of the original look of norm to give him a full body
and look less ragged.

Commentary: The muscular norm was implemented in 2010. The University and Athletics
department felt like they couldnt distinguish themselves by the way Norm looked. Several other
schools have mascots that are very similar and looked fiercer. In order to keep up with the trend
of mascots they changed it to a more healthy/fit Norm. The change supposedly makes Norm look
tougher.

Commentary: This image is the original way that norm looked. As you can see in the image,
Norm didnt have a body attached with his head. The hat that Norm wore was green but the
school colors were green and white. Norm looks a lot like someone who is Irish. The image
reminds me of Notre Dame and the leprechaun that is their mascot. The pipe and old looking axe
just makes me feel old.
