ABSTRACT
With recent interests in global health and translating the technologies to low cost,
small, and portable devices to serve the middle and low income resource regions,
there is a greater need to develop near-infrared (NIR) optical devices that can serve as
first responders or at a triage setting. The current project proposes a low cost pocketsized NIR optical device on a breadboard that is automated in image acquisition and
processing as a visual optical scope applicable in a clinical setting.
