Partial Honors at Entrance Scholarship
‘A sum of $2,500 will be awarded toward the cost of tuition annually ($1,280 per semester),
fora maximum of eight semesters, or until you receive a baccalaureate degree, whichever
‘comes first.
Your scholarship may be renewed each year, provided you maintain a 3.6 cumulative GPA
and complete twenty-four (24) erdit hours during the iwo semesters of the academie year
(12 hours each, fall and spring semesters), twenty (20) of which must be graded. We will
review your standing for these requirements after the completion of your second, fourth, and
sixth semester.

Services) at gis stad and completing the online scholarship form under the Finance
section
Students who reveive a scholarship, fellowship, or other financial aid administered by the
University of Utah are required by state law to eerty tha they are eligible to receive the
scholarship as a US. citizen oraetizen of another country who is lawfully present in the
US. Ifstudents do not know whether they are in the U.S. lawfully, they should seck the
vice of an immigration auomey before accepting this award
Scholarships awarded by the University Scholarship Office (including President's
‘Scholarship, Honors at Entrance, Cash at Entrance, Diversity Scholarship and Leadership
Scholarship) willbe deferred if the deferment request is approved by the Oifice of
‘Admissions
Newly accepted freshman, transfer, oF readmitted degree-seeking undergraduate students
‘who wish to defer their start date oa later semester may’ apply’ for an admission deferment.
‘+ Requests to defer an offer of admission will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
1nd may be granted for reasons including, but not Limited to illness, military
service, and humanitarian or religious service. Supporting documentation must be
provided withthe application for deferment.
‘+ An-admission deferment may be granted for a maximum of seven consecutive
semesters (including summers). The admission deferment guarantees
only admission into the University and not necessarily admission toa particular
‘major andor program of study
‘Ifyou paid the enrollment deposit by May 1. you can apply For deferment until the
frst day of clases
‘+ An applicant approved for deferment wil be equired to attend a mandatory new
student orientation session preceding enrollment
Feilure to meet any of these terms may result inthe revocation of admission. In such a case,
‘an applicant will need to reapply for admission tothe University by the appropriate
application deadlines
‘The University Scholarship Office will also, in rar extenuating circumstances, allow a
student to take a Leave of Absence from a scholarship once they area continuing student.
