READING IN PRISON

1. ABOUT US:
Reading in prison is a charity that works to help prisoners teaching them how to
read and write.
We do this program, joining forces with teachers union and the local government. In
that way, we will be able to improve our resources and provide a better educational
program that not only, provides the alphabetization but also, give a chance to the
prisoner turns his life into a new leaf.
2. HELP AND ADVICE:
Reading in Prison cannot turn you to a Shakespeare, but surely increases the
opportunities of the prisoners, at the moment of the reintegration to the normal life.
3. INFORMING AND ADVICE:
Reading in Prison tackles the root causes of the analphabetisms in prisons by
lobbying the prisons directors and the local governments, to make possible the
teachers union get inside the prison and provide campaigns, classes, education and
principally literate those interested.
Our influential campaigns brings aspects of educating the illiterates at the prisons
to the attention of the media and the public, and in some its pass the image which
everyone deserves a second chance.
4. FIGHT FOR CHANGE:
We are proud to join forces with like-minded organization, in way to share our ideas,
and if`s possible give more ideas to tackle the illiteration in prisons.
