English, Spelling, Handwriting

Objectives:

Learn and follow the rules of grammar, usage, and mechanics


Generate well- constructed sentences and paragraphs
Develop well-constructed informative, argumentative, and narrative essays
develop self-correcting and peer editing skills
Use the Six Traits of Writing: ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence
fluency, and conventions
Develop neat, cursive writing techniques

Student Expectations:

Actively participate in classroom activities and peer editing


Study nightly for Spelling and Grammar tests
Turn in all assignments on time
Homework may consist of
o Grammar worksheets
o Spelling worksheets
o Spelling practice (3xs each, sentences, ABC order)
o Writing prompts
