Application Reflection
The two campuses that I have submitted applications were MiraCosta College and
Palomar College. The first campus that I chose was MiraCosta College. It is the closest
campus in the area where I live, it is only 10 minutes away. MiraCosta has one of the regions
highest university transfer rates. MiraCosta College offers associate degrees equivalent to the
first two years of a bachelor's degree (2+2 program). With an associate degree, students can
transfer to a four-year university or begin work. MiraCosta also offers over 50 different
certificates for students interested in short-term training in a specific career area. Certificates can
be completed in one or two years.
Palomar is a public two-year community college and it is the second
closest college in my region. It also has all the courses that I will need in order to become a
medical assistant. At Palomar, students may choose from over two hundred associate degree and
certificate programs, complete the first two years of a bachelor's degree, or enjoy personal
enrichment classes for lifelong learning. Palomar also offers programs for students wishing to
transfer to many different four-year universities, including institutions in the university of
California and California State University systems.
The campus that I will most likely attend is MiraCosta College. MiraCosta
would be my first option because it is the closest college in my area. It also offers all the courses
that I would need to take in the field Im most interested in. In MiraCosta I would also have the

opportunity to transfer to a four-year university. I believe that MiraCosta would be the best
campus for me to attend.
