‘To Whom it May Concern: 1am pleased to recommend Carolyn Hart for a teaching postion. She was placed in my fifth ‘grade classroom for the 2011-2012 school year. Carolyn was part of atwo-teacher team with 56 students, including autistic, learning and emotionally impaired students. She was responsible for teaching Language Arts, Reading, and Socal Studies. She also planned and Implemented lessons in Science and Math. Additionally, Miss Hart taught two different Reading Intervention classes this year Carolyn proved to be an enthusiastic and dedicated educator. She was thorough in planning, lessons and units, making sure to align her teaching with Michigan's Grade Level Content Expectations, as well as, curicular objectives. She incorporated SMART board technology in her lessons, started a class website, used a data projector, and posted grades via the Internet. ‘She diversified lessons for varying student abilities and interests, and worked closely with struggling students one-on-one and n small group settings. Miss Hart implemented the ‘CHAMPS positive behavior system into the classroom which provided a structured, student- centered learning environment in which routines and procedures were followed. Carolyn exhibited professionalism and flexibility while working with colleagues, students, and parents. She actively participated in team planning sessions and helped to implement a new Reading basal inta the classroom. She helped organize Family Science Night, as well as several field trips. Carolyn attended all staff meetings and professional development offered by the district. She was an active member ofthe School improvement Team and involved with the NCA Accreditation process and Response to Intervention. Miss Hart kept parents informed of student progress through emails, phone cals, parent teacher conferences, student agendas, ‘Weekly newsletters a class website and the Power School online grading program. | am confident that Carolyn Hart willbe an asset to your district.
