Introduction
In data management, restore is a process that involves copying backup files from
backup media to hard disk. A restore is performed in order to return data to its
original condition if files have become damaged or to copy or move data to a
new location

2.

Purpose
The purpose of the document is to recover the old/deleted data.

3.

Operational Procedure
Method (GUI):
Login to avamar administrator,

1. Go to Backup/Restore operator and select the appropriate Machine from which you
want to restore.
2. Select the appropriate machine for restoration, then select the date of backup and
select the appropriate files required to be restored.
3. Then Click the Preview list to verify the selection.
4. Then click the Restore Now button, which will open a window.
Here you can select where to restore the files selected. Select encryption method
medium.
5. Then you can select the destination as shown below.
6. You can also click more options for additional options.
7. Then click OK which will start the Restoration process and can be monitored from
activity monitor.
Note: Be careful while restoration as the restoration can overwrite the existing files with
same name.
Please confirm folder/Directory is empty before proceeding.
