Grading Policy

1. Grading Percentages
25% Midterm and Final Exam Playing tests
25% Must do ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest
10% Attendance
10% Class Conduct
20% Final Scale Test
10% Preparation for class (Having instrument and necessary materials in class everyday)
2. Midterm and Final Exam Playing Tests will include an excerpt from your music that you
are currently working on and 2 major scales of my choosing and a small sight reading
piece
3. Attendance= Allowed to miss only 2 days each semester and after that 3% will be taken
off your final grade for every day missed after 2. 5 Tardies will equal 1 day missed and
will then have the 3% taken off.
4. Class Conduct
You must conduct yourself in an appropriate manner and must wear school approved
clothes everyday or you will be asked to go to the principal. There is to be no food or
drink in class.
5. Final Scale Test
Must be able to play 5 Major Scales of your choice
6. ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest
You must participate in ISSMA whether you are doing a solo or group piece. Whatever
ranking you get will not affect your grade but you still must participate and give it your
best try.
