Assure model process

Applied lesson

Analyze learners

Students take a pre-assessment over

math topic (Geometry) to see what
students know prior to starting unit.
Group students based on abilities for
small group instruction and center
work.

State objectives

Teacher reviews which standards will

be covered, and posts them for the
students in an I can statement
format. Both teacher and students
are knowledgeable of the standards.

Select method, media,

materials

Teacher selects activities for students

to complete during small group center
work that correlate with the math
topic. Ex: games, hands-on activities,
and apps for the IPad center.

Apply the model

Utilize materials

Teacher previews and prepares all

materials at centers before student
use. Teacher models how to use
materials and provides expectations
for the math centers.

Require learner
participation

Students are actively engaged at

math centers, and teacher is working
with a small group for targeted
instruction.

Evaluate and revise

Students will take post assessment at

the end of the Geometry unit.
Teacher will review the scores,
evaluate student performance, and
make revisions where needed based
on student scores.
