I am from many places
From many things

Im from high waters

From a small house with the leaky roof
From the drunken old mans hand
From the government checks
Form every little penny we had
And from the other days of my youth.

Im from my days in the Sunshine State

From bent curved palm trees standing in my yard
From six seasons of fierce winds and rains
From hot summer days running around with friends
From days with family at the many amusement parks
From days in the sand and in the Atlantic Ocean
From a dog bite to the face.

Im from the Buckeye State

From a town of yellow and blue
Where friends were scarce
And enemies were near
From another town of orange and black

Where fiends are near
And enemies are scarce

Im from many episodes of Family Guy

From many hours of playing trumpet
From many more hours of foreign language studies
And last but not least,
From my mothers chocolate chip cookies.

From these, I am from

And whatever the future brings
I shall be from.
