of Literacy, the article by Peterson and McClay offer readers ways of articulating and building
upon the knowledge and experiences children develop in a classroom. They provide us with a an
example that has complex parts that involve new technologies with literacy provision in a
Canadian classroom. They highlight the diverse ways in which teachers are using new
technologies with writing. These authors believe that new technologies provide opportunities for
children to experiment more easily with different uses while working with text. I plan to use this
article as positive feedback of technology being used in the classroom and how it is helping
students with their writing development and teachers with their teaching practices.

Jose Montelongo is a professor at New Mexico State University and Roberta Herter is a
professor in the Department of School of Education at California Polytechnic Sate University. In
this article the authors talk about how students in the early years of a science class struggle with
the transition from learning to reading narrative text. Teachers can try and make better of this
struggle by using technology to improve their students comprehension of reading, have a better
grip on scientific writing, and technology to have easy access to resources they need and express
their work in a professional way. I chose this article to focus on a specific subject that uses
technology in their classroom and to show how well it is helping teachers to have a successful
lesson.

Allwardt, Debra E. "TEACHING NOTE WRITING WITH WIKIS: A CAUTIONARY TALE OF

TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM." Journal of Social Work Education 47.3 (2011): 597605. Web. 14 Apr. 2015.
Debra Allwardt is a professor at Western Illinois University. This article focuses on an
undergraduate research course that is learning how to write a scholarly literature review. They
are assigned to use wiki together, which they werent to happy about using, to write this literature
review. Using wiki, discussion group feedback and collaborating with each other were explored.
Through the course there were concerns of time management skills, group coordination, and
assignment expectations. I chose this article to examine a pilot study of students working
together to use a program on the internet, Wiki, and the concerns that may occur when using the
internet and resources that are out there.

Integrating Writing Process and Technology in a Primary Classroom." Reading Teacher 60.5

Charlene VanLeeuwen is a professor at the University of Prince Edward Island and
Martha Gabriel is a professor in the department of education at the University of Price Edward
Island. This article is based off a study of students using word processors as an helpful tool for
their writing process in a 1st grade class in Canada. The teacher also like to focus on their
students behavior, interaction with other students and the teacher when using technology to
write. Using technology, it engaged the students to work on their writing task, expressing what
they wrote. Using a processor helps the students in many ways like showing them how many
sentences they have written about the topic they are writing about. I chose this article to discuss
the pros and cons of teachers using a technology like word processor when working with a
students writing process.
