y Safe School Plan,Volume 1 OERS ence oF Henin & Sarcry Coordinated Safe & Healthy School Plan Se temo oe Coordinated Safe and Healthy School Assessment/Practices Prevention - Volume 1 Chapter 7 7.0 Coordinated Safe and Healthy School Assessment/Practices Components and Essential Checklist To establish a safe and orderly school environment conducive to learning, school staff must gather and analyze data about the school and its community (Education Code Section 32281; Penal Code 628.2). |The Coordinated Safe and Healthy School Planning committee members should review data from the chapter scorecards. The data from the chapter scorecards will help the schoo! to identify strengths and weaknesses and provide committee members a “snapshot” ofthe school’s current physical plant safety and relative health of the social climate JOnce the schoo! data has been gathered and analyzed, schools need to develop goals and activities for each ofthe two components: (1) People and Programs and (2) Physieal Environment (related to establishing a safe, orderly and healthy school environment conducive to learning). One ofthe goals for People and Programs must address School-wide Discipline Plan (questions 5.1-5.2). 7.1 Review of Last Year's Goals After reviewing last year’s CSHS AssessmentPractices goals, please describe the progress towards or completion of those goals. Review of last year’s CSHS Assessment/Practices goals indicate the continued need to communicate with parents and make them aware oF ‘school events as well as the continued semi monthly meetings to review the safe school plan and staff responsibilities. In addition, the ‘SWPBSP goal indicate progress is being made in a relatively steady and consistent pace, the teachers continue to encourage the students to be safe, be responsible, and be respectful. Additionally, the indoor and outdoor environment required changes that would increase student engagement and critical thinking skills, progress if being made in a steady and consistent pace. 4 ‘You have 2000 characters remaining for your description. 17.2. Summary of Data |Summarize information from the chapter scorecards and briefly discuss current trends and areas of success, arcas requiring attention, and those areas of desired change. (One to three paragraphs) Parent feedback, via Parent Surveys conducted September thru October 2013, indicate parents are 87% Very Salisfied and 12% Satisfied and 1% Not satisfied with the overall quality of the program. Further, 99% indicated felt thelr child(ren) were safe and 999% felt thelr child(een) were happy in the program. Therefore, in meetings with groups of staff and parents, Second Step (SS) will be the primary curriculum used to address prosocial behavior. In addition, the tool Ages and Stages Questionnaire-3 (ASQ-3) will be used to screen children to determine the level of support, needed at home, for the child's overall growth and development. Anti-Social behaviors will be monitored ane! ‘corrected.
