Thomas Edison is

an inventor of
history.

Thomas Edison
and his Inventions
Thomas Edison was an inventor who
changed our lives. Thomas Edison
was born in Milan, Ohio, and grew up
in Port Huron, Michigan. He was the
seventh and last child of Samuel
Ogden Edison, Jr. (18041896, born in
Marshalltown, Nova Scotia, Canada)
and Nancy Matthews Elliott (1810
1871, born in Chenango County, New
York).
Edison made an invention out of
rubber. Edison got the idea by the
rubber car.

Before Edison discovered cement he

had made a machine that crushed
rock and iron. This
invention failed, but
the waste made
cement. Edison got
ideas from other
inventions.The light

bulb changed our lives. At first

many inventors tried to make the
filament of the light bulb. The
first light bulb burned for 13 hours
and a half until Edison made the
filament out of a strip of
cardboard dipped in oil. Edison
made our first electric lighting
system.

Many people have a positive impact

about Edisons inventions. Edisons
inventions changed the world, like
the light bulb and the phonograph.
He was called the wizard of Menlo
Park (Menlo Park was Edisons Lab.)
because of the light bulb. Many
people wanted the light bulb
because it was cheaper and lasted
longer, so the impact is good.
