I am interested in applying for the position of production welder at Caterpillar. I
learned about this opportunity from Mrs. Brocklehurst who has heard about this on
the internet. I believe that my skills and personal traits make me an excellent

As you will see on my enclosed resume, I am currently taking the Welding
Technology class at the ERESA Career Preparation Center during my junior year of
high school. As a part of the class I am exposed to several areas within the Welding
field where I learned Oxyacetylene welding, Gas Metal ARC welding, Torch and
Plasma cutting, brazing, and Industrial/Construction Safety Training. This experience
has given me the confidence that a career in the field of welding is the right one for
me. I plan to continue my education at Lansing Community College.
