From my research, I decided the audience for my media product would be
indie/alternative fans as it was the most popular choice in the questionnaire and its my favourite genre of music so it makes it easy for me to write about. This audience was also chosen as NME was voted the favourite music magazine, so it was a good influence for my magazine. NMEs readership profile influenced my target audience as it is based on the same artists in the magazine, so its appealing to the same category. When I had carried out the questionnaire focusing on indie music, it made it clearer of who the audience was going to be for. It shows that it needs to appeal to both male and females who are roughly aged between 16-25. All the responses in the questionnaire is mainly by 16-25 year olds, so it was a big influence on what needed to be included. It included things such as Reading and Leeds festival, Spotify, Doc Martens and Royal Blood.
