Memo; Bumper Sticker
I created a bumper sticker by utilizing text and an image to present my
information. I chose to do this, because a large majority of car owners have bumper
stickers or stickers on their window. Bumper stickers are often put on your car to show
your support for an organization, school, sport, or something you are passionate about or
simply liked. I value helping others and a practical way to help others is by serving others
on a mission trip. A bumper sticker about helping others is something I could actually see
myself putting on my car (if I put bumper stickers on my car).
When trying to incorporate ethos, pathos and logos into my bumper sticker I
chose to focus on pathos. Pathos is describes as an appeal to emotion or convincing an
audience of an argument by creating an emotional response. I was able to provoke
emotion by including a picture of hungry African children on my bumper sticker. It is
common knowledge that there isnt enough food in under developed countries, but it is
different when you see children starving. I chose to utilize text by saying, What goal did
you set today to encourage people to set goals, because I think it is very important to do
this. I also used text at the bottom that says, I chose to go on a mission trip. Along with
encouraging people to set goals I am also encouraging people to consider going on
mission trips to help poor and starving people, specifically children.
