Ottawa Joins STOP BILL C-51 Canada-Wide Day of Action

Join with thousands of people across Canada at a demonstration and march to oppose the governments
proposed "Anti-Terrorism" legislation, Bill C-51. This proposed legislation threatens the rights and freedoms of
all Canadians, Quebeckers and First Nations people. The rally will culminate a Week of Education (April 13-17)
organized by OpenMedia.ca, an organization dedicated to the protection of open internet and online rights.

What:
DEMONSTRATION AND MARCH TO STOP BILL C-51
March through the Byward Market, ending at the U.S. Embassy
When:
Saturday, April 18, 1 PM
Where:
Gathering at the Prime Ministers Office, corner of Wellington and Elgin
Why:The House of Commons is scheduled to hold a final vote on Bill C-51 after it returns on April 20.
This march is part of a national Week of Education in which opponents of the bill are
contacting their Members of Parliament, signing petitions, and holding information events.

Photo Op:
1:25 pm. Before the start of the march protesters will cover their mouths with tape to
symbolize the muzzling impact of Bill C-51. Then, on signal, the muzzles will be removed to
symbolize our unwillingness to be muzzled and the march will begin to the Byward Market.
