34 Cornell Drive Canton, NY 13617 April 3, 2014 To whom it may concern: I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Tiffany Davis. Tiffany began her enrollment at SUNY Canton in fall 2012 in the Health Sciences Certificate Program. I became acquainted with Tiffany in fall 2013 when she enrolled in a course I instruct entitled ECHD 101: Introduction to Early Childhood. Tiffany excelled in this course of study and became very interested in the field of education. Throughout the semester, Tiffany became excited about the content; which included the history and theories of early y care and education, professional standards as established by NAEYC, primary care, and child development. I observed a transformation in Tiffany it appeared she had found her niche. Her class projects, in class participation, written assignments, and oral presentations were outstanding. Tiffany received a grade of A for the course and earned a 3.12 GPA at the end of the fall 2013 term. In spring 2014, Tiffany declared Early Childhood as her major. She is presently enrolled in several majorrelated courses. At mid-term, Tiffany had grades or B and B+ in Student Teaching Orientation, Curriculum Development, Infants & Toddlers, Math for Elementary Teachers I, and Introduction to Sociology. I presently instruct ECHD 125 Curriculum Development. Tiffany continues to show interest and progress in her understanding of developmentally appropriate teaching practices, lesson plan writing and implementation, and child study knowledge. Tiffany is very active in the Student Government Association and takes an active role in club, campus, and community events. Tiffany has a wonderful disposition, well-developed interpersonal skills, and puts forth great effort in her academic studies. At this time, Tiffany feels she should continue her education and enroll in a baccalaureate program with a goal of attaining a degree in education. I feel SUNY Canton has provided a great foundation for her to pursue such a goal; and I support her desire to transfer to a 4-year university. I highly recommend, without reservation, Tiffany Davis application and enrollment to a 4-year degree program. It has been a joy to observe her transformation and passion for the field of education.
