1.

In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, what are your professional strengths?
How have you built on these strengths so far, and how do you plan to do so in the
future?

In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, my professional strengths are establishing

and maintaining high expectations for learners, provide content for learners, monitoring,
assessing, and enhancing learning, maintaining an environment to promote learning, and
fulfilling professional responsibilities. My students know what I expect of them. I have to be
knowledgeable, before I can teach my students. When my students do not do well on a
topic, I have to know how to monitor, assess, and enhance learning. . I have to monitor and
adjust by re-teaching the topic or content, and retest the students. I fulfill my professional
responsibilities, my doing everything that is required of me to do. I also may sure that
everyone in my class is treated fairly. I have built on my strengths so far by continuing to
learn more and attending different professional development sessions at the school. In the
future I will continue to learn and grow as a teacher. I want to learn as much as possible,
because I know once I get my own classroom it will be totally different. And I will be on my
own.

2.

In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, what are your professional

challenges? How do you plan to meet these challenges?

In terms of the ADEPT Performance Standards, my professional challenge is classroom

management. I am still working on classroom management. Hopefully when I get my own
classroom, classroom management will be different. I plan to use the website
www.classdojo.com , and when my students get so many points they will be able to redeem
them for different treats. At the beginning of the school year I will get feedback from my
students on what type of rewards they would like to receive.

3.

Describe your students overall progress and achievement. What insights have you
gained into ways to improve student progress and achievement?

My students overall progress and achievement is good. My students continue to improve

on their reading skills. In May when they are retested for their reading levels, most of them
will be closer to the second grade reading level, then when they first were tested. I have also
seen a great increase in their vocabulary, since we have been working with their high
frequency words. My students have also improved with their writing; they are writing
more complete sentences. Next stop will be writing full paragraphs. I noticed that they love
doing hand on activities and group work. My lower students love when they get to peerteach with another student. They are speaking out more and answering questions in class.

4.

How will you use the knowledge you have gained through this professional selfassessment to promote your continuous professional growth and collaboration?

I will use the knowledge gained through this professional self-assessment to promote my
continuous professional growth and collaboration by becoming a better person, there is
always room for improvement. I will also do my best to make sure, that my students have
the same opportunities as other students from around the world. I will also motivate my
students to do their best at all times.
