Daybook Activity 6

2/2/15

Writers come across every type of audience, there is no such thing as a small list of
audience. For instance, I am writing this piece for the audience of you the professor
however, if I am writing something that is on a more mainstream level, that
audience change very quickly. Ill use my genre project as an example. The
website satire genre has too many levels of audience to put into this list. The
audience could be broken down from age group (ie 18-25 y/o, 25-30 y/o, etc.), by
gender, by social economic class (middle class, working class, working poor, etc.),
by individual topic (military personnel, left wing progressives, right wing
conservatives, etc.), by education level (scholarly, high school level, etc.), and
many, many more. As you can see when you put these audiences together side by
side you have every possible combination on the table. Once the individual write
chooses what he would like to write about he can choose the individual audience
that will best reach the understanding of the topic.
