Budget Assignment
Budget Summary
For this assignment we designed a budget for an entire year that would
support two athletic training rooms at a Division 1 University that serves 4 sports,
including football. Included in this budget was the cost of all taping supplies, first
aid supplies, modality supplies, rehab supplies, cleaning supplies, and the cost of
professional continuing education. Our entire budget for the year was $87,805.98.
Taping supplies included 1 white tape, 1.5 white tape, 2 white tape, 2
Jaylast, 3 Jaylast, 2Powerflex, 3 Powerflex, QDA, Prewrap, Heel&Lace Pads, Skin
Lube, 1 Elastikon, 2 Elastikon, 3 Elastikon, 1.5 Leukotape, 3 Moleskin, and 4
Cover Roll. These supplies are budgeted to last the entire year and cost
approximately $71,312.65.
First Aid supplies included two types of second skin, assorted band aids (4
wing, finger, patch, & knuckle), gauze sponges (3x3nonsterile and 4x3 sterile),
large and medium gloves, triple antibiotic ointment, cotton tipped applicators
(sterile and nonsterile), tongue depressors (sterile and nonsterile), cotton balls,
sterile cotton roll, bioclusive (2x3 and 5x7), stockinet (2, 4, 6 and 8), iodine
(gallon and swab), alcohol, peroxide, saline, vasoline, nose plugs and Hibiclens.
These supplies cost approximately $4,331.10 and should last the entire year.
Modality supplies for the year cost approximately $6,394.50 and included
massage lotion, replacement hydroculator packs (cervical, standard and oversized),
hydroculator pack covers (cervical, standard and oversized), game ready covers for
the ankle and knee, four different types of Theraband, ice bags, flexiwrap (school
colored!), US gel, e-stim pads both circle and square, and clear elastic tape to tape
down the e-stim pads.
Rehab supplies that were budgeted to last the entire year included neoprene
knee braces (small, medium, large and extralarge), McDavid ankle braces (small,
medium, large and extralarge), four different types of putty, foam rollers. These
supplies in total cost approximately $1,099.35
Cleaning supplies for the year cost $1,705.42 and included hand sanitizer,
hand soap, paper towels, isoquin, Clorox wipes, bleach, tape remover, dishwasher
detergent, dish soap, blood buster, and facial tissue.
Office Supplies including pens, printer paper, ink, envelopes, highlighters,
long distance phone service and postage costing approximately $1,962.96 were
budgeted in for the entire year.

We also budgeted in Professional Education Expenses for the year for two
staff members. We estimated that each staff member would use $500 for CEUs, so
we set aside $1,000 in the budget for this expense.
