At Catholic Charities, we try to focus on the person.

We call the people

that we serve at Catholic Charities clients, but I believe we interact
with our clients on a much deep level than the traditional meaning of
this word. The fact is, our clients bring with them many deficits which
are definitely present and can not be ignored. But at Catholic Charities,
we try to focus on the assets of a person. We do our best, however the
nature of this work makes attempting to not weigh deficits so heavily
very difficult. U- Visas and VAWAs focus on deficits. The fact that the
only way some immigrants will be able to attain citizenship is through
experiencing a violent crime is something that has always bothered
me. In order to make a case, my cover letters have to focus on the
