Holly was a top performer in my upper-level Environmental Regulation course offered during the fall, 2014 semester at the University of South Florida. This course presented a broad survey of several federal and state environmental regulations in the United States, concentrating on the historical context of the regulation, agencies responsible for enforcement, and the general impacts of the regulation on overarching environmental policy. Holly showed a superior command of all topics and concepts discussed throughout the semester, and consistently scored at the top of her class on all assignments and In the time that I have got to know Holly, she has indeed shown impressive analytical, critical thinking, and research skills. She brought with her to every class diverse background-knowledge on topics of environmental conservation, forest ecology, environmental policy, and sustainability. Her multi-disciplinary approach to learning has undoubtedly contributed to the keen and unique perspectives she shared during in-class discussions and assignments. For instance, during the semester Holly presented on the compelling issue of rain forest preservation. Rather than simply providing a simple summary of the subject, like most of her peers did, Holly critically reviewed the issue and placed the implications she discovered within a broader global context. Her evaluation of the situation and her presentation of the material was a true tour de force. Her attentiveness to this, assignment and others throughout the semester proved her commitment to not only meeting, required deadlines, but also, and more importantly, her desire to fully understand complex and interrelated environmental situations. Holly's work throughout her academic tenure at the University of South Florida has indicated that she is indeed supremely motivated, intellectually curious, and very conscientious. | am extremely confident that Holly would be a valued addition to this internship program.
