On August 13, 2013, at approximately 17:38, a teenager identified as
Jane Doe was found in her second floor bedroom lying in a pool of
blood holding a pistol in her right hand. Marie Doe came home from
work to find her daughter in this state. I called for Jane to come eat
her dinner and when she didnt answer me I came upstairs to check on
her and found her lifeless, laying in her own blood, Marie told Deputy
Jones in hysterics. Marie continued after approximately 3 minutes and
said, I immediately called 911 and then grabbed my daughter and
tried to see if she was conscious at all and then I noticed the diary left
open on her desk where I found a note explaining her plan to take her
life.
Deputy Jones arrived around 18:15, responding to Marie Does 911 call
where Jane Doe was pronounced dead. After questioning his only
witness, Marie Doe, Deputy Jones proceeded to take her fingerprints
along with the now identified, Jane Does fingerprints. Deputy Jones
took a blood sample from the victims body. Deputy Jones took
fingerprints from the pistol that Jane Doe was holding in her right hand
and he also collected the pistol for evidence. Deputy Jones took the
diary containing the suicide note written and signed by Jane Doe.
Closer inspection of all the evidence revealed that this was in fact a
suicide committed by Jane Doe due to bullying on the Internet. This
data was collected from her diary and Facebook posts of Jane Doe. The
blood samples and fingerprints that were sent into the forensics lab for
analysis also proved that Jane Doe was unassisted and committed
suicide in her home around 16:30 after she returned home from school.
Jane Doe was 15 years of age.
