Abstract
The following details two different proofs of how if two integers a, b are
relatively prime and have a common multiple c, then c is also a multiple
of their product ab.

Proof

Assume (a, b, c Z)[a | c b | c (a, b) = 1].

a | c b | c [a, b] | c.
[a, b] | c (k Z)[c = k[a, b]].
ab
c = k[a, b] c = k
.
(a, b)
ab
(a, b) = 1 c = k
c = k(ab) c = k(ab) ab | c.
(a, b)
Q.E.D.

Alternate Proof

Assume (a, b, c Z)[a | c b | c (a, b) = 1].

a | c b | c (m, n Z)[c = ma c = nb].
c = ma c = nb nb = ma.
nb = ma a | nb.
a | nb (a, b) = 1 a | n.
a | n (k Z)[n = ka].
n = ka c = nb = (ka)b = k(ab) c = k(ab).
c = k(ab) ab | c.
