Riser system

The slip joint has fewer problems with the current that is why they are installed in the
top and the bottom in the Riser string.
The foam in buoyancy has been made up for every water depths
The coulors code show at water depths thaey are good for
Shallow waters

not so many poly balls

Medium water

Poly balls

Deepwater

Many poly balls

If the coating gets damaged, water will enter and change the buoyancy, and there by
make it more heavy.
So keep a close eye on the riser will running it or pulling it
On the Riser string is also a mud booster line beside the kill and chock and conduit
lines.
The mud booster go into the upper part off the LRMP, its purpose is to boost cuttings
and milling cuttings so it gets back to surface and dont get trapped in the anullar or
the BOP, since it will damage the it.
The mud needs to be boosted becuase it comes from 18 3/4 to 21 it reduces the
speed, and drilling on 5000 plus the mud speed is not enough that i why the need of a
booster line is needed
The Slip joint on the telescope joint, is for keeping mud inside the riser.
The upper packer is a split packer in many cases, and it is normally in rig but can be
operated with hydraulic.
The lower packer is good for 500 psi, and is pressured with hydraulic.
The telescope joints works best if it is at mid stock
