Point of View of One Night at the call centre

In One night at the Call center, the author chooses to deliver the story in the shoes of the
protagonist, on account of him being the most similar to the author, thus saving the time that he
would have otherwise spent familiarizing himself with.
The point of view of the author in this particular novel presents a number of elements that differ
with each person's perspective, with the perspective of the author being the reference. The point of
view has thus far been broken down into it's three most vital elements in order to aid further
comprehendability.
Firstly, the point of view can be described as absurdly direct, for it has been written in firstperson, in its entirety. In my opinion, this aspect of the point-of-view has played a major part in this
publication being so widely known, since the first-person's point of view is a powerful tool, which
when used wisely, produces astonishing results. The usage of first-person is what engulfs the
readers and moves their mind, and draws them into the story, in a manner that is otherwise
incomprehendable. It draws the readers, until the end of the story, in a constant, but precise manner,
thus accomplishing the author's motives.
The second element of the point of view, would be the obvious tries at description. Seeming too
elementary at first glance, this vital element of the point of view only shows to prove the authorical
tendencies of his truly. The author never misses a chance to describe what largely goes unnoticed in
most part. This element aids the first-person's perspective and only adds to the already large
magnitude of the role played by the point of view in this book.
The other element of the point of view could be stated as Wildly realistic. The author's use of
slang, his portayal of modern indian-english usage that is of frequent use in today's indian society,
all of these factors are what contribute to this element of the point of view, and leads to it playing
such a vital role in this concoction of elements. It connects the readers to the very minds of the
characters, and puts them in their shoes, which is largely appreciated in visualizing the entire chain
of events.
