Academic Achievements
Throughout my four years of high school, I have tried to maintain a challenging course
rigor while having fun on the side. Attending MMSTC is perhaps one of the best choice I have
ever made. It is a totally different learning experience, including the rigorous with courses not
offered at Warren Mott. But Mott was still a challenge due to my enrollment in various Advanced
Placement and honors classes.
MMSTC offered multiple classes that were both more advanced, such that we learned a
year in advance and course pace was faster, and not offered at my home school. Math classes
were definitely accelerated compared to those at my home school. After taking Algebra 1 in
middle school, MMSTC allowed me to take AP Calculus in preparation for the BC AP Calculus
exam. These math classes have helped me apply mathematics and myself to the world around me
in more ways than the math classes at my home school ever could. In addition to math, I was
also able to take three years of advanced science courses: Biology, Chemistry and Physics, with
the option to take an AP version of any of the three my senior year. I have enrolled in AP
Chemistry, and even though it is offered at Mott, I have already seen a dramatic difference
between the students at MMSTC and the students at Mott. Another class, Interdisciplinary
Studies, or IDS, also offered a variety of skills I could not have gained without MMSTC. IDS
incorporates all of the classes at MMSTC through research and statistics.
At Warren Mott, I also pushed myself considerably. I took an advanced English class all
three years that I had the option to. Over the course of my last two years, I have taken five AP
classes at Mott in order to make the most of my free education!
