RE: Francesco Pagnotta

I had the pleasure of being Mr. Pagnottas Cooperating Teacher at Lester B. Pearson High
School during his second and third year internship at McGill University. I watched Francesco become
a true professional, dedicated to being a competent, caring and hard working teacher. He created
original, interactive, student centered units for my secondary four and five English groups, as well as
taking my secondary two drama group. His lesson plans were very relatable to todays teenagers and
his Power Points were attention grabbing and helped peeked and keep the students attention.
Mr. Pagnotta integrated himself immediately into the schools culture and extra curricular
activities. He helped me with the school dances and he participated in the after schools poetry night
show. Mr. Pagnotta was always there to help students both academically, socially, and with after
school activities.
On his third internship, Mr. Pagnotta created an engaging and original Learning Evaluation
Situation for my secondary 4 English class revolving around moral ambiguity. He also enhanced my
secondary 5 Dystopian and A Street Car Named Desire units as well. He was given free reign and
ended up creating an entertaining pantomiming and improvisation LES for my secondary two Drama
classes. He is very expressive and lively in the classroom, which engaged the students interest and
curiosity. He knows how to control a classroom and keep students interested in the topic at hand. Mr.
Pagnotta is extremely passionate, creative, dedicated and has a very strong work ethic. He was truly
the best student teacher I have ever worked with. I know that he would be an asset for any school
environment.
