Dear Mrs. Henry, Head Counselor,
I am writing this letter to you to get the approval of my senior portfolio. This portfolio contains some of
the best work that I have done throughout my high school education. When it gets approved, I plan on
finishing my senior year, sleeping more, and pursuing music at the Berkeley Conservatory.
As I grew up, I never really liked school, but that changed when I started going to Buckingham. Mostly
because I grew up being homeschooled and it was a very antisocial environment. When I came to
Buckingham, I realized how much better school could be. I met a lot of new people and joined classes
that fit my personality as a musician. The fine arts classes like jazz, film, and art were what drove me
through high school. I dont think I could have made it without being able to meet Mynor Macal and Mr.
Ford. Mynor was always there for me whenever I had questions about music theory or just music in
general. I could spend hours talking to Mr. Ford about life tips stretching from how to manage time all the
way to how to deal with relationships with people. I wouldnt be where Im at today without the help
from those two teachers.
After I graduate, I plan to attend music lessons at the Berkeley Conservatory. In these lessons Im going
to learn the history and theory behind every genre of music. As I learn the background information about
each genre, I will also be going home and learning how to play each genre. This is going to help me grow
as a guitar player and give me the advantage I need to become a professional musician. I will be living at
home still, so I wont have to pay any bills or provide food for myself. All I will have to focus on is
improving myself as a musician and preparing myself for the rest of my life.
Through the completion of my senior portfolio I hope to express good work ethic and present the best
work I have done throughout my years at Buckingham. High school taught me how to manage my time
and contribute to my community in a positive way and Im ready to move into the real world and be the
best me that I can be.
