The Alcatel-Lucent 7302/7330 Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) is a fullservice, high-capacity access

node, designed to deliver a superior service experience to all subscribers in DSL,

GPON or point-to-point fiber
networks. ISAM 7302 and ISAM 7330 have exactly the same features, the only
difference is size 7302 is a
16-slot platform and 7330 is an 8-slot platform.
The Alcatel-Lucent 7302/7330 ISAM
Release 4.2 is the third-generation
IP DSLAM for application-enabled
access, which goes far beyond the
first generation (Internet access) and
second generation (residential triple
play access). It is designed to meet
requirements of the third wave of
broadband access evolution:

The Alcatel-Lucent 7302/7330 ISAM
platform enables service providers to
deploy any service, any deployment
model, and any technology. The
availability of point-to-point, GPON
and DSL access technologies on the
same platform gives full flexibility to
operators to deploy access technology
that best fits their deployment scenarios.
Operators are not locked in a certain
technology, but can choose to deploy
different options based on technoeconomics,
local regulations or offered
services. In addition, by having one
unique platform, operators can benefit
from reduced CAPEX/OPEX (no need to
invest in different dedicated platforms,
reduced inventory, streamlined operations).
For operators with ISAM 7302/7330
installed base, Release 4.2 will bring
the possibility for smooth evolution to
Next Generation Fiber Access, with
lower CAPEX/OPEX investments.
The ISAM Release 4.2 brings higher
capacity and increased density line
cards, serving more subscribers from
one platform while providing high
bandwidth throughput. It is the first
high-capacity DSL platform on the
market, delivering up to 50 Mb/s per
subscriber with the new high-capacity
VDSL2 line card and controller. Bonding
can increase the reach/rate even more.
