‘To Whom It May Concern:
Mary Elizabeth Alexander has been in my Art Survey and Visual Arts Classes
for the past year. She is an articulate, thoughtful, creative person with a wide range
of interests. For projects in the class she consistently follows a pattern of
preparation, She spends time thinking about what it is she wants to do. She works
up sketches and researches her ideas, then modifies and sharpens so that her
creative expression is clear. She resources for supplies outside the class if she
needs additional materials, and then works at home when it is not a requirement in
order that it will be the thing that she imagines. When has free time in class she
reads a wide variety of materials and engages in thoughtful conversation. I state
this for your observation of her excellent use of time and her thorough work ethic
because I suspect this is how she approaches all her endeavors.
Her primary interest lies elsewhere in theatre. In three and a half years she
has performed in fifteen plays. She sings and backs that with years of training in
opera. On the practical side, she has been a stage manager for three plays.
In the community she has served at summer camps as a leader and for her
Senior Service learning project made hats and scarves for the homeless for the
opportunity house here in Vacaville.
I would heartily recommend her in whatever capacity you might need her. 1
think she would prove a continual asset in yor endeavor or employ.
