Rest and sleep is a basic need that is needed by everyone. To be able to
function optimally, then everyone needs to rest and sleep well. No exception is
also the person who is suffering from illness, especially those with hypertension.
The problem is, a lot of people with hypertension who do not pay attention to his
rest. If this continues, it is feared the risk of complications of hypertension will
increase. Such as stroke, heart disease, etc. The purpose of this study was to
determine the relationship breaks sleep on blood pressure in IRNA Bougenville
Dr. ISKAK Hospital Tulungagung. Literature review in this study include
fundamental concepts restful sleep, the basic concept of the blood vessels and the
heart, and as well as the concept of hypertension.
Research design used in this study is Observational Analytics. The study
population was all patients with hypertension that is in IRNA Bougenville Dr.
ISKAK Hospital Tulungagung with the number 86. In Consecutive sampling
using sampling techniques with a number of 35 respondents. Data retrieval restful
sleep duration and blood pressure using an interview checklist sheet duration bed
rest and observation sheets blood pressure, and then data is processed (editing,
coding, scoring, tabulating) and subsequently obtained data.
After that, the results of data processing correlated with a statistical test
"Spearman's". By using Spearman's rho statistical test between restful sleep blood
pressure values obtained with Spearman's rho: 0.719 with = 0.05. Means the
relationship between the two variables, namely bed rest on blood pressure, there
is a strong relationship, because the correlation coefficient lies in the range of
0.60 s / d 0,799. Thus the direction of the relationship between the two variables
is positive, the lack of restful sleep duration, the higher the blood pressure. This
can be reinforced with a P value of 0.000. Where P.value < (0.05) then Ho is
rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that the independent variables
(duration of sleep breaks) with the dependent variable (blood pressure) there is a
significant relationship. Thus need to be given more emphasis on the importance
of restful sleep, more - more in patients with hypertension. This is to prevent
complications of hypertensive disease further.
