Position of the Company

The Building for Kids Childrens Museum (BFKCM) is located in downtown Appleton, Wis. The
BFKCM is a non-profit organization whose whole purpose is providing a fun and educational
experience for all who enter their doors.
Here at the museum children from infants to age 7 can enjoy hands-on educational experiences. The
museum has 14 permanent exhibits such as the Amazing Heart where children can climb up and down a
slide of ventricles and arteries of a 10-foot tall human heart. Another exhibit is the Story Tree where
children can climb and explore various tree forts.
At this museum, play is an extremely important factor. Play is a crucial element in cognitive, physical,
social, and emotional development. Each exhibit has been designed exclusively to meet these
developmental areas in young children.
History of the Museum
The Childrens Museum was first established in 1991, and officially opened in November of 1992
although it was first called Fox Cities Childrens Museum.
When this museum first opened, it only took up just a section of the second floor. The museum
expanded in 2006, and now takes up two whole floors.
The museum expanded in 2006, and it was also renovated with brand new exhibits that were designed
by kids for kids. The museum brings in 115,000 visitors each year.
Companys Mission
The BFKCM mission statement is that the museum believes in building imagination, creativity, and
confidence in our communitys youth, from crawlers through age 7.
The museum accomplishes this mission by giving families a safe space to learn through play.
The BFKCM is also proud of their curriculum-based classes for classroom fieldtrips, family events, and
special programs.
Here at the BFKCM children have the opportunity to grow and develop, and the BFKCM hopes that
each child leaves the museum with a new zest for learning.
