Dear Dr. Willis,
Greater Dover-Boys and Girls Club, has made a commitment to provide alternative activities
at Simon Circle for pre-teens and teenagers girls ages 12-18. Girls Night In will facilitate
prevention education and alternative activities on Friday May 1, 2015.
Girls Night In will be coordinated by SIG staff Whitney Towns and Aziah Smith. This event
will allow young girls to practice dressing for formal event, self-awareness, team building and
valuable life principles. A Keynote speaker will discuss positive life decisions with the group.
The following morning the group will attend For Girls Only event sponsored by Boys and
Girls Club and Delaware Prevention Coalition.
The project outcome and sustainability and increasing membership to the club
The event will service pre-teens and teenagers from 12-18, educating and empowering
young girls to practice smart decision making.
Through a trained community leader and liaisons the program will be nurturing our preteen girls to:
Seek positive options
Internalize good values
Make healthy lifestyle choices
Build positive self esteem
