memorable
event
that
happened
in
Claudias
story
when
Claudia
thanked Stella for the
green pyjamas.

(Event)

Claudias father and

his girlfriend, Stella, held a
dinner party on the night of his
thirty-seventh
birthday.
Claudia refused to join the
guest for dinner but decided to
put on a green pyjamas Stella
had given her and eavesdrop
on the party guests. She hid
behind the green fern on the
landing and listened in on their
conversation.

She realised that her fathers

friends were not talking to Stella
and treating her as if she was
invisible in an attempt to be loyal to
Claudias biological mother. Claudia
realised that their behavior was
similar to her own treatment to
Stella. At that moment, she decided
to go to Stella and thank her for the
green pyjamas and make a point to
the guests that Stella was not to be
blamed for what happened to her
parents marriage.

(Reason 1) This is a memorable event

because Claudia finally realised that
her treatment was unfair to Stella
and she decided to do something
about it. It must be difficult for
Claudia to do it publicly thanking her
fathers girlfriend for the gift and in
doing so, show to her father and
friends that their treatment to
Claudia was unacceptable. This act of
fairness and maturity on Claudias
part made it most memorable to me.
I hope I can do the same given the
circumstances.

(Reason 2)This is a memorable event

because it is an important event in

Claudias life. In deciding to thank
Stella for the pyjamas, Claudia also
changed her relationship with Stella.
Previously, she had been rude to
Stella and had ignored her because
she felt that she would be betraying
her mother if shes nice to Stella.
After the incident, Stella taught
Claudia to quilt, change electric
plugs, how to read maps and how to
skate.

(Conclusion) To me
this is memorable
because it taught
me that life is good
if we are good to
other people.
