Acceptable Use Policy
AUP, Acceptable Use Policy, is a contract that explains the
consequences of violating rules while you have access to a certain
network database. It is important that schools have an AUP, because it
is a way for students and teachers can be monitored as they use the
Internet. The Internet can be dangerous and it is the schools
responsibility to make sure students is safe at all times under its care.
The main components of an AUP are as followed: code of ethics,
benefits of the use of the internet at the school, internet usage is a
privilege and not a right, and a signature form will be provided. As
seen, to be able to have access to the Internet at a school is important
to have, as well as, knowing how to use it properly.
