PART #1

Dear Julie,
I understand the experiences you are having with your teacher, but you need
to understand that there are better ways of teaching and the importance of being
digital literate. Being digital literate can be defined as the ability to use and
understand information and communication technologies in order to find, evaluate,
create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.
There are also several 21st Century type skills that go along with being
digital literate. They are grouped as follows:
Ways of Thinking
Problem Solving
Creativity
Analytical Thinking
Ways of Working
Collaboration
Communication
Ways of Living in the World
Ethics & Accountability
Julie these skills are essential for both students and teachers in the 21st
century. These skills will help us develop ways of thinking, ways of working, and
ways of living in the world. If your future passion is to become a teacher, you will
be responsible for applying these skills in your classroom and furthermore, pass
these skills onto your students as well.
Hope this helps,
Brandan Bergdall
