Sensory Integration Practical Reflection
1. What did you do to prepare for this practical? - We met as a group twice. The first
time we met was to make our initial plans of what idea we wanted to use. The second time we
met we finalized plans and did preparatory work, making of things and going our final plans, to
be ready. During our two meetings and after our second we communicated via email and made
any changes with the groups approval and finalized our ideas.
2. Did you and your partner participate in the planning 50/50 or did one of you do more?
In what way describe. Iliana, Lane, and I, all worked together equally. We came up with our
clinical activities to do with our client. We each took assignments of things that we needed to do
to be prepared and everyone accomplished what they needed to do.
3. In the session, did you and partner participate 50/50 or did one of you do more? In
what way describe. I feel that each member participated in the clinic session equally. We all
wanted the opportunity to interact with out client. Each of us had the opportunity to talk and
work with her equally and no one sat back to only observe.
4. What did you learn from the experience of watching your classmates? It was a great
learning experience to watch the other groups in the sessions they had planned. Learning ways
of dealing with a child that did not want to go with the flow was a great asset. Seeing that you
may have to change the session to go with what you can get the child to do.
5. What did you learn from participating? One of the main things I learned is flexibility
is vital. If you find your activity is not working well with the child to switch it up with another
idea. It helps to have more than one activity in mind so you can change paths if necessary.

6. If you had it to do over, what changes would you make? I feel that our session went
really well. We had a child that was willing to do each of the activities we had planned and she
loved what we were doing. The only thing I would change would be to plan more activities for
those moments of an uncooperative child in hopes that one of them would interest them.
7. What was the best thing about your practical? I learned that there are so many
different ideas and options that can be done. It is fun to work with children because you can be
so creative with ideas when you know what they are interested in.
